THE WINES:
1. FRICO LAMBRUSCO | $6/can
—
Sparkling and vibrant, with fresh dark fruit flavors and a dry, spicy finish, Frico Lambrusco comes from Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey’s Scarpetta project. In our eyes, dry lambrusco is the ultimate burger wine, and we couldn’t do an event like this without having one on offer!
2. DOMAINE DE MENARD COTES DE GASCOGNE BLANC | $7/glass
—
The traditional spices used in making black bean burgers are a natural match for zesty dry whites. But whereas some new world Sauvignon blancs can be a little monolithic and overblown, this fresh Cotes de Gascogne offers zippy refreshment and tremendous food-pairing versatility. It’ll be delicious with a black bean and chicken slider, but also pairs perfectly with some sunshine and good company.
3. TOURAINE ROUGE TRADITION | $7/glass
—
Burgers are usually red meat, which usually calls for a red with appreciable concentration and power. But they also make you pretty thirsty, which demands a wine with good drinkability. Enter this lively red from Touraine. Cot (aka Malbec) brings the heft, while a full 50% Gamay keeps things lively and gulpable.
Guests will order food from Juniper (just like you would a food cart) and beverages from Cork and Cap. Seating is outdoors in the courtyard (front and back). Wines available for purchase by the glass at the outside bar. You can make purchases in the store, as well.
There is no cost to register for tickets, but you can RSVP so we can have a head count.
